Monitoring Delhi, Noida

If you thought Monitor Lizards are not natives of the state Capital, here’s news for you. Jyoti Suresh Narayan (34) found a 3 – ft Monitor Lizard when she went to the puja room of her Mayur Vihar home on Monday morning. And that was not all. Within hours, another Monitor Lizard was found in Noida.

The NGO Wildlife SOS rescued the reptiles, and they are to be released in the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary.
Monitor Lizards are not usually found in Delhi. But it is possible that they have been displaced because of the rains, said wildlife experts. Though they look fearsome, these creatures are not harmful or venomous.
