Gulabo
This is a name which means a “rose” and her owner Wali Mohammed had her for seven years. She is only 70 kgs in weight and of small build but malnutrition and stress has also made her lose her thick coat and she has sparse hair. Her left side of the muzzle is distorted with infection and pus and needs surgical intervention. This pain kept her from eating well when she first came to us but a course of antibiotics and vitamins is already accelerating the healing and Gulabo has begun to enjoy her porridge, fruits and milk once again. Gulabo has been dewormed and has begun her prophylactic treatment against Tuberculosis and will, when stronger, receive her vaccination against rabies. Meanwhile the best news is that Dr Ilyaraja the senior vet from Agra assisted by Dr Moorthy the junior vet at Bhopal removed Gulabo’s nose ropes and that has definitely changed her outlook in life and she ambles around, still a little shy and withdrawn, snuffling the ground in her enclosure and keeping to herself but gradually we hope she will be more playful and interactive. She has partial sight only and opacity in one eye which maybe due to malnutrition.
