Vishnu
was stolen from the forests, when he was hardly a few months old. Separated
from his mother, he was put inside dark dingy boxes, sold to a trader
who made him dance on hot coals and kept him hungry to teach him the tricks
of the trade. This was his life of the past 8 years, walking the highways
during the heat of summer; his muzzle always raw and diseased from his
dirty rope. When WILDLIFE SOS offered alternative employment to the Qalandars,
Vishnu was one the bears peacefully surrendered by his owner and sent
to the ABRF by the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department. Here, for the first
time in his life, he tasted freedom and got a new lease of life, what
with trees to climb, ponds to swim and a jungle to explore....
